The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario has been reporting day by day on its contract and occasional teacher locals that are settling four-year deals ahead of an April 24 provincial deadline. Greater Essex District School Board (think Windsor if you're not familiar with board names) OTs are the latest, with advisories and pressers being released April 16 and 17. That's nine of 50-some OT locals done, along with only three full-time teacher locals.
There's one week left until the provincial deadline -- with a lot of money at stake if deals aren't struck. Curious-- could that deadline be extended given ETFO's provincial bargaining team is at every negotiation table? There are only so many of those folks around-- it might be a challenge to nail down over 45 agreements in seven days.
