Anyway, here they are:
- The Hanover Post on more meetings being added to the schedule for a high-school review;
- The Dunnville Chronicle on a school-review committee's report hitting trustees' desks;
- The Brantford Expositor on a public-school review staff members' report being received;
- A few from the Barrie Examiner on the city's high-school review -- being handed to admin and another on the proposals included on completion;
- The Brantford Expositor again on a Catholic school trustee vote to close schools;
- The St. Catharines Standard on a new name for NDSS in its new role as home to board staff members;
- Toronto Sun's Moira MacDonald's latest on the Toronto District board and its capital issues; and,
- The Kenora Daily Miner and News on Joan Green's visit as part of a petitioned review of a trustee decision.
Will trustees go for it? If they do, will it work? A lot rides on how Barrie's city council responds and if council lives up to the chatter of wanting to preserve a high-school presence in the core then here's the opportunity to put some dollars behind that.
On a related sidenote, I lunched with Annie Kidder this week and we touched on accommodation reviews. We may have disagreed on whether the process is ultimately flawed at its core, though we agreed on its biggest problem: A misunderstanding of what the school-review process is supposed to accomplish. It's not meant to find *the* solution, it's meant to provide a recommendation that is different than what the board comes up with and, most importantly, different than the status quo.
