Small high schools -- Lincoln and High Tech High

Here's a slideshow of some of the photos I nabbed at the last two schools we visited in San Diego. I kept the camera in the bag at Kearney for some reason.

All I can say is "Wow!"

Were the schools in which you were able to get shots of considered "small" by their scale?

I don't know why but my eye went to the chain-link fencing and signs in the outdoor shots.

I quite like the concept of schools within schools. Always have since I started learning about them. If this works to keep kids in school and excited about their paths then perhaps it's time Ontario caught up? However the
"small by design v. small by nature" seems to skewer the idea to all but those large urban boards which seem to those on the outside to benefit from most choice.

These were both considered "small by design" schools.
Large campuses, but consisting of campuses with 400-600 students in each campus.
